Farooq Abdullah, President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government's policies in Jammu and Kashmir. Abdullah refuted claims made by BJP member Amit Shah and expressed concerns about the current situation in the region.
Abdullah stated that terrorism remains a significant challenge in Jammu and Kashmir, contrary to BJP's assertions that it would end after the abrogation of Article 370. He suggested that terrorism might persist as long as the BJP remains in power.
The National Conference leader also criticized the BJP's vision for India, stating, "We are against the India that the Modi government wants to create." He vowed to resist the BJP's strategies in the region.
Meanwhile, the BJP government is reportedly tightening control over the Kashmir Valley ahead of elections. The United Nations has expressed concern over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly regarding the actions of Indian security forces.
Despite ongoing tensions, election preparations continue in the region, with the BJP government maintaining its approach amid criticism from local leaders and international observers.
