The Congo virus continues to claim lives in Pakistan, with the recent death of a Congolese patient in Quetta.
The woman, aged 40 and hailing from Musa Khel, was brought to the Fatima Jinnah Institute of Chest Diseases in critical condition. She passed away before her test results for the virus were returned.
In a separate case, 23-year-old Abdul Khaliq from Kuchlak admitted to the same institute was confirmed to have the Congo virus after testing. His condition is being closely monitored.
According to the Epidemiological Department, the total number of Congo virus cases in Quetta has now risen to 30 in 2024, with seven fatalities recorded so far.
