Renowned Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle is expecting something new for India’s 50-over and red-ball captain, Rohit Sharma, following his triumph as the skipper in the recently held T20 World Cup, jointly in the United States and Caribbean.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Bhogle said: “He [Rohit Sharma] might be 37 going on 38, but the next 10 months is an opportunity for Rohit Sharma to cement his legacy as captain of India.”
Sharma’s next assignment as Indian Test captain is the home series against Bangladesh, which will be part of the World Test Championship (WTC).
The first match of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh will begin on September 19.
Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik had downplayed the chances of Bangladesh beating India in the latter's country.
