Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday condemned Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, calling them a dangerous attempt to expand the ongoing conflict in the region.
Speaking to foreign media in New York, he expressed concern that these attacks could trigger further unrest across the Middle East, leading to disastrous consequences for peace and stability in the region.
Sharif underlined the need for an immediate ceasefire and urged the international community to denounce Israel’s actions. He highlighted that the conflict, if allowed to escalate, could have severe global repercussions.
The premier reiterated his stance that the only viable solution to the Palestine issue is the two-state solution.
He stressed that without an immediate ceasefire followed by efforts to establish two independent states, lasting peace in the region would remain unattainable.
