Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Friday visited Karachi, where he received a briefing on the operational preparedness and key training initiatives of the Pakistan Army.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during his visit, General Munir inaugurated the Invista Indus IT Park, a major development aimed at boosting Pakistan's IT industry. The ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and members of civil society.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of investing in the IT sector and leveraging the talents of Pakistan's youth. He underscored that such projects will create an ideal environment for the growth of the IT industry, in line with the nation's broader economic objectives.
The Army Chief echoed these sentiments, stressing the need to foster innovation and development in key sectors. He also met with members of Karachi’s business community, commending their contributions to the country’s economic progress. General Munir expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between the business community and the armed forces in promoting economic stability.
In discussions during the event, the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in achieving positive economic outcomes was also recognized. General Munir acknowledged the efforts of both the federal and provincial governments in supporting initiatives aimed at improving the economic landscape.
Highlighting the significance of international partnerships, the Army Chief expressed gratitude to China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE for their assistance in helping Pakistan's economic recovery. He noted that Pakistan holds immense potential across various sectors and urged the nation to remain confident in its bright future.
"With collective efforts, those attempting to spread hopelessness have been defeated," General Munir stated, adding that he is optimistic about Pakistan securing its rightful place on the global stage.
Earlier, on his arrival, General Asim Munir was warmly welcomed by the Karachi Corps Commander.
