The government has raised the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs7.31 per kilogram, bringing the new rate to Rs251.30 per kg.
The revised prices were announced by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) and will take effect after midnight on September 30.
In its notification, Ogra confirmed that the price hike will also affect the cost of domestic LPG cylinders.
The price of a standard domestic cylinder has been increased by Rs86.28, setting the new price at Rs2,965.
This latest increase comes amid rising concerns over inflationary pressures in the energy sector, as citizens brace for higher household fuel costs. The adjustment in LPG prices is part of the government's periodic review of energy rates based on market fluctuations.
