Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised on Sunday that the efforts of Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Islamabad administration, and police in ensuring peace in the capital amid the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) protest.
According to details, Naqvi called on PM Shehbaz. On this occasion, Naqvi briefed PM Shehbaz Sharif on the latest developments in Islamabad. PM Shehbaz highlighted the outstanding role played by the Islamabad police in preventing an attack on the city, while also acknowledging the crucial contribution of the Pakistan Army, Punjab Police, and Rangers in maintaining law and order.
He honoured police constable Abdul Hameed, who embraced martyrdom while safeguarding the public, praying for his elevated ranks in the hereafter, and expressing solidarity with his family.
"The protection of Islamabad’s citizens and their property has been ensured, and the situation is quickly returning to normal," the PM said, reaffirming his focus on economic growth and national prosperity.
He criticized political opponents for their discomfort with the country's economic improvements, saying, "Pakistan's global recognition for its policies is a testament to progress."
Interior Minister Naqvi also updated the PM on the return of 56 Pakistani prisoners from Sri Lanka, facilitated by Federal Minister for Privatization, Abdul Aleem Khan, who covered all repatriation costs. PM Shehbaz expressed appreciation for the ministers' efforts in bringing the prisoners home safely.
