Chasing the 287 runs target, the Netherlands' openers started well against the dangerous Pakistani pacers, but Hasan Ali claimed the first wicket by dismissing Max O'Dowd. Although Colin Ackermann had a good stance, Iftikhar Ahmed, the spinner, quickly removed him as well.
For Netherlands, Vikramjit Singh scored 52 runs, while Bas de Leede scored the most with 67. By scoring 81 runs, Pakistan beats the Netherlands.
After being invited to bat first by the Dutch team, Pakistan set 287 runs target for Netherlands.
Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel performed in an outstanding combination to save Pakistan from a low-scoring finish after the Netherlands pacers dominated the first 10 overs by taking 3 early wickets.
Netherlands' bowlers put Pakistan on the backfoot straightaway by removing Imamul Haq (15) skipper Babar Azam (5) and Fakhar Zaman (12) in the second match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Aryan Dutt provided the team a breakthrough as he dismissed Saud Shakeel. Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, and Hasan Ali were all bowled out by Bas de Leede after that, which stopped Pakistan's innings.
The Netherlands controlled the opening 10 over of the match, dismissing three Pakistani batsmen, including captain Babar Azam, with ease. However, Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel then arrived to stabilize the innings and direct the team's comeback.
