Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a Pakistan People's Party-led delegation commended on Tuesday President Asif Ali Zardari’s struggle for strengthening the democracy in the country.
According to details, PM Shehbaz called on a PPP-led delegation in Islamabad. Prominent among those who represented the PPP were Syed Naveed Qamar and Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.
During the meeting, matters pertaining to the joint working group for helping the Palestinians were also underlined. The leaders acknowledged the participation of all the political parties in the APC.
The meeting resolved to stand with the people of Palestine against the Israeli atrocity.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, expressing his thoughts during the APC, PM Shehbaz said: "I would like to ask from the global powers that they don't see the bloodbath of the innocent Palestinians."
"How they [global powers] surface on the issue of Northern Ireland and Sweden. It is our topmost priority to stop the bloodbath of the innocent people," said the premier.
"Even the situation in Kashmir is not too different, as innocent people have also been killed there," PM Shehbaz said.
PM Shehbaz said: "The innocent children have been martyred in Palestine, and cities have been damaged," he added.
"The president, Nawaz Sharif, and other leaders have expressed thoughts in connection with the Palestine issue."
He commended the APC meeting, saying, "The political and religious figures have always united when there is a need of hour."
"I would like to express my gratitude to all the leaders for ensuring their participation in the conference from the parts of the country," said PM Shehbaz.
