Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the government will not tolerate the "conspiracy" of staging the protest again.
Expressing his thoughts, during the cabinet meeting, PM Shehbaz stated, "Our external and internal enemies have united against us. No nation has ever progressed through spells and tricks. Those who create chaos need to rethink their actions. I will not allow a repeat of the conspiracy to disrupt our governance."
He emphasised, "The threats of protests and incursions into Islamabad are vile and malicious intents. They worry about the recovering economy; they fear being ignored. During the recent gathering led by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Attock, there were Afghan nationals and police officers present."
PM Shehbaz added, "Where there is chaos day and night, who will invest? The constant threats of attacks are unacceptable. A group is unwilling to see Pakistan prosper, while the founder of the PTI aimed to deal a heavy blow to our economy."
He remarked, "In the past, conspiracies were plotted to undermine Pakistan. Even the visit of the Chinese President was disregarded by the PTI founder. Such incidents echo the protests of 2014, and the postponement of the Chinese President's visit has tarnished Pakistan's image."
The premier continued, "It is disheartening to hear such absurd talks. The federal government is being threatened day and night. Where are those promises of eliminating corruption and recovering $300 billion? I never claimed to eradicate corruption within three months, nor did I speak of bringing back $300 billion."
He stressed, "Obstacles and conspiracies are being laid in the path of development and prosperity. We are stabilizing the economy through the IMF program, and failing to convey this to the public is an injustice to both the nation and its people. Investments flow where there is peace; who would invest in chaos and disruption?"
Sharif concluded, "A group is constantly concerned about Pakistan’s development, unwilling to see the conditions of the poor improve or inflation decrease. This group seeks to harm Pakistan by sabotaging billions in investments."
On a concerning note, he stated, "The recent terrorist incident in Karachi is deeply saddening. The Pakistani people share the grief with the Chinese public and leadership. We feel regret and embarrassment despite all our efforts."
