Former finance minister Ishaq Dar expressed hope that the upcoming IMF economic review would be successful, paving the way for Pakistan to receive a substantial installment of $700 million.
He emphasized the importance of all forces in the country working together, stating, “No force wanted to fail me. If all forces work together, then the country will move forward."
Dar stated, "The real value of the dollar is Rs250,” and mentioned his previous stance from September 2022 that the dollar rate should be less than 200.
He added, "The dollar should come close to Rs250," and expressed satisfaction with the responsibility shown by interbank systems and exchange companies.
He highlighted that during his tenure, action was taken against dollar smuggling and hoarding, underlining his commitment to economic stability.
Dar insisted that Nawaz Sharif’s return was not part of any ‘guarantee’.
PMLN's senior leader redirected the question about the state of the economy to the current government, emphasizing that they should be held accountable.
