In a startling development, a leaked phone call between a PTM (Pashtun Tahafuz Movement) member and militant Tariq Mahmood, also known as Abu Hisham, has brought to light a dangerous alliance between the two factions.
The call exposes a plan to stir ethnic divisions and unite Pashtun tribes for an anti-state agenda, all under the influence of foreign-backed terrorist groups.
During the call, Abu Hisham expressed a desire to participate in a jirga (tribal assembly), stating, "I wish I could attend and tell my Pashtun brothers to unite their weapons, politics, and protests."
He also called for armed and non-armed factions, including the Taliban, to band together, urging Pashtuns to expel Punjabis and other ethnic groups from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Defense analysts have labelled this call a clear attempt to manipulate the Pashtun card, warning that it aims to rally Pashtun tribes to take up arms against the state. The call further highlights PTM’s deep-rooted connection with outlawed terrorist factions like 'Fitna-tul-Khawarij' (The Rebels), which operates under foreign funding and seeks to destabilize Pakistan.
Experts emphasize that PTM's public persona of innocence is a façade, designed to weaken Pakistan's foundations by inciting hatred and division.
