The Punjab government has revised its Green Tractor Scheme, reducing the number of beneficiaries and the subsidy amount.
Initially planned to provide tractors to 20,000 farmers, the scheme will now only cover 9,500 farmers.
Additionally, the subsidy per tractor has been decreased from PKR 1.5 million to PKR 1 million.
According to official documents, this change has been approved to streamline the process, ensuring the tractors are delivered within a year instead of the previous two-year timeline.
The scheme targets landowners with up to 50 acres, aiming to provide modern farming equipment to small-scale farmers in the province.
