At least 10 female students of a madressah in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), were injured in a gas cylinder explosion on Saturday. A policeman was also martyred in a remote-controlled blast in Buner.
The students were shifted to the district headquarters hospital. The explosion occurred at the Kahdija-Tul-Kubra Lil Banat Madressah, causing fear and panic in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion was so loud that it could be heard from several kilometers away.
In a separate incident, a policeman was martyred and another was injured in an attack on a police van in the Elum Mountain in Buner.
The blast occurred when a police mobile was delivering food to security personnel conducting a search operation against terrorists in the Elum Mountain.
The driver of the police mobile was martyred on the spot, while another policeman was injured.
A heavy contingent of police and army reached the spot after the attack and rescued the martyred and injured officials.
