Emirates has been named the ‘World’s Best Airline’ among 90 global carriers in a recent study conducted by Telegraph Travel.
The airline announced this achievement on Friday, highlighting that the rankings were determined by over 30 criteria, including punctuality, baggage allowance, and in-flight meal quality. The study analyzed data from more than 18 independent awards, reader polls, and expert assessments.
Emirates was praised as a ‘worthy winner,’ excelling in nearly every category assessed. Notably, the airline operates the largest fleet of double-decker Airbus A380s, with its Premium Economy class being recognized as the best in the skies. The Telegraph Travel study also acknowledged Emirates as the best long-haul carrier, based on votes from 30,000 readers.
The evaluation criteria for airlines included reliability, connectivity, luggage rules, in-flight experience, fleet age, home airport quality, and the value of rewards programs. Carriers were also rated on safety, heritage, lounge quality, and various other reader rankings from renowned platforms such as Apex, Airline Ratings, Skytrax, and Trustpilot.
In addition to this prestigious recognition, Emirates has garnered 19 awards and accolades this year, including seven honors at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in June. The airline was also awarded ‘Best Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity Middle East’ at the Pax International Magazine Awards, owing to its exceptional Wi-Fi and a vast content library.
At the Business Traveller Middle East Awards, Emirates claimed the title of ‘Best Airline Worldwide’ alongside multiple other accolades for its Premium Economy, First Class, and frequent flyer program. Furthermore, it received accolades at the World Travel Awards for leading airline services in the Middle East.
Emirates Skywards was recognized as the ‘Global Loyalty Programme of the Year Middle East’ at the International Loyalty Awards. Additionally, at the March 2024 AirlineRatings.com Excellence Awards, Emirates was honored for its exceptional in-flight entertainment and Premium Economy service, now available on 15 global routes.
Emirates maintains that it does not pay to enter awards, polls, or ratings, and is not affiliated with any of the mentioned honors.
