Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman submitted his response to a show-cause notice from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the 34-year-old cricketer penned comments in favour of Babar Azam.
Sources divulged that Zaman said in his response that Babar Azam is his friend and fellow cricketer. "There was no intention to scoff at the PCB or anybody else by coming in the favor of Babar Azam."
He replied, "I am a centrally contracted player and get salary. I have just talked about Babar Azam's cricket. I feel that Babar Azam should have been provided with opportunity in this difficult time."
"The purpose of penning my statement was not to leave the PCB angry, but to express my thoughts," Zaman said.
"PCB is our institution, which we respect and will continue to respect," he replied to the PCB.
