Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi said on Sunday that former national team skipper Babar Azam wants to focus on his batting.
Expressing his thoughts, during the press conference, Naqvi said: “Due to the concentration on his game, Babar Azam had decided to withdraw from the captaincy at will.”
He acknowledged the prowess of Azam, saying, “Babar Azam is our asset.”
“Players like Babar Azam come to the spotlight after a long time to serve the national team,” Naqvi stated.
It is pertinent to note that Azam will represent the Green Shirts during their all-important assignment against Australia in the white-ball format.
