Adviser to prime minister Rana Sanaullah said on Wednesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had "damaged the reputation" of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah.
Expressing his thoughts, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart assailed the PTI, saying, “The PTI has rolled out the environment pertaining to violence in politics.”
He condemned the attack on former chief justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa. “Those who are responsible behind the incident should be brought to justice.”
“The parliament has given all the authorities to the Supreme Court. The judges committee came into existence in accordance with the law, which the parliament had made,” he said.
Sanaullah said: “The parliament has given the judiciary the authority to constitute a bench. All the judges in the apex court are equal.”
He maintained: “It is up to the judiciary to whether appoint Justice Mansoor Ali Shah or Justice Muneeb Akhtar.”
“If the PTI founder wants to get released on Donald Trump’s order, then it is better to stay behind bars,” he stated.
