Renowned Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle commended on Saturday the Indian national cricket team for putting up a stellar performance on the day of the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Bhogle acknowledged the terrific show from the openers, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, saying, “Outstanding from India.
Dominating the Australian bowling powerhouse, Bhogle expressed satisfaction over the Indian batting display, saying, “They can now control this game from here.”
“Need to bat long enough for the sun to dry this surface and open up a few cracks,” he said.
It is pertinent to note that Indian openers have flexed their muscles against a strong Australian bowling unit, with Jaiswal not out on a 193-ball 90 and KL Rahul unbeaten on a 153-ball 62.
India reached 172-0 in their second innings to amass a healthy 218-run lead before the second day was ended.
