Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that he was waiting for Pakistan national cricket team's victory over India in the Champions Trophy.
Addressing an inauguration ceremony of the revamped historic Gaddafi Stadium, PM Shehbaz said, "We are waiting for the Pakistan national cricket team's victory against India." He hoped that the Pakistan bowlers will put India to test.
"Today is a huge occasion for all of us. Everybody has made all-out efforts to complete impossible tasks in 117 days," said PM Shehbaz.
He lavished his praise on Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, saying, "I would now talk about the Mohsin Speed as the Shehbaz Speed is now an old story."
The prime minister referred to the successful completion of the renovation of the Qaddafi Stadium in a stunning manner. "The reconstruction of the Qaddafi Stadium has been completed in a truly splendid way," PM Shehbaz stated.
He praised the collaborative effort behind the achievement, noting that it was made possible in just 117 days. "Everyone worked together as a team to turn the impossible into possible," PM Shehbaz added.
Speaking about Naqvi’s exemplary leadership, the prime minister highlighted that Naqvi had a unique habit of rewarding those who did great work by taking them to London. "I would tell Mohsin Naqvi to take the 2,500 workers to London for a tour," Sharif suggested.
