The Special Communications Organization (SCO) has established a state-of-the-art Software Technology Park in Nagar, aiming to enhance digital connectivity and promote freelancing and IT development in the remote areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The facility was inaugurated by Harspo Das as part of SCO’s Vision 2025, which seeks to bridge the digital divide and provide opportunities for youth in the technology sector. The park offers modern infrastructure, high-speed connectivity, and professional guidance to support aspiring IT professionals and freelancers.
Local residents, including youth, elders, and civil administration officials, welcomed the initiative, terming it a significant step towards economic empowerment.
Officials observed that the project would provide opportunities for young professionals in Nagar and its surrounding areas to engage in the digital economy.
SCO has reiterated its commitment to expanding IT infrastructure in the region, with plans to establish more technology centers and freelancing hubs in the future.
