Pakistan national cricket team's former captain Babar Azam requested the Karachi fans to ensure their presence at the newly revamped stadium for the forthcoming fixtures.
According to details, Azam expressed his thoughts on the sideline of the inauguration ceremony, studded with political figures and celebrities.
“I have a complaint from the people of Karachi for not turning to stadiums to watch cricket,” said Azam.
He urged the fans to show similar support as they showed today during the inauguration ceremony of the stadium.
Azam made it clear it was the fans’ support that boosted the team’s morale.
“We will look to perform well in tomorrow’s fixture and the Champions Trophy 2025,” said Azam.

On the other side, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the revamped Karachi stadium on Tuesday, ahead of the eagerly awaited tri-nation and Champions Trophy matches.
Representing President Asif Ali Zardari, CM Murad participated in the ceremony to mark the completion of the renovation, which had been carried out in record time.
Speaking during the inauguration, CM Murad extended his congratulations to the nation, expressing pride in the stadium’s swift refurbishment. He remarked, "The Sindh government is looking to make all-out efforts to uplift sports." The chief minister highlighted that the Sindh government had initiated the renovation work back in 2018.
The revamped stadium, now a symbol of modern infrastructure, welcomed players as Pakistan's national cricket team also showcased their Champions Trophy at the venue, similar to their earlier presentation at the Gaddafi Stadium.
