Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Umair Khan Niazi said on Tuesday that the party would present its dossier if the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation meets the leadership.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme, "Nadeem Malik Live", Niazi said the party would brief the IMF on the rule of law and other prevailing issues in the country, adding, “We will tell the IMF delegation about the entire situation, including the rule of law.”
Referring to the 26th constitutional amendment, Niazi said: “The opposition parties were divided to secure votes on the 26th amendment. A notice should have been taken on this,” Niazi stated.
Niazi said: "The PTI founder would eventually get their turn, but the justice system was suffering."
He pointed out, “The system of justice is being harmed. A junior judge has been given the title, and the impression of bench-packing has emerged.”
Niazi questioned the changes made to the seniority list of judges, asking, “On what basis was the seniority list of judges changed?”
Acknowledging that mistakes had been made by his party, Niazi said, “We made mistakes, and this government is also making mistakes.”
Niazi went on to highlight governance issues in the country, stating, “There is no governance in our country. We are heading towards a North Korea model.”
He lamented that people could not even find jobs or loans without recommendations, saying, “In Pakistan, you cannot get a job or a loan without influence.”
Niazi also pointed out the lack of opportunities for educated people in Pakistan, claiming, “There are no opportunities for educated people.”
He expressed concern over the country’s economic situation, with many individuals earning money in Pakistan and sending it abroad, particularly to Dubai and other countries.
“People are earning money in Pakistan and taking it to Dubai and other countries,” he added.
Niazi said that the country’s system could no longer function without corruption, stating, “Now, the system cannot run without corruption.”
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abid Sher Ali also weighed in on the country's political and economic situation.
Reflecting on Pakistan’s past under PML-N President Nawaz Sharif's leadership, Ali pointed out that Pakistan's index had been at 127 during Nawaz’s tenure. “During Nawaz Sharif’s time, Pakistan’s index was 127,” said Ali.
Ali criticised the country’s moral decay, stating, “We have become morally corrupt,” and emphasised the need for urgent action to address corruption.
“Corruption exists, and it needs to be surgically addressed,” he remarked.
Regarding the IMF, Ali responded to the complaints raised by PTI on February 8 and November 26, stating, “PTI’s complaints to the IMF do not matter to us.”
