Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore heard the bail petitions of Aleema Khan in the May 9 cases. The court dismissed the interim bail in the Jinnah House attack case after it was withdrawn.
According to the police investigation report, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan have been declared innocent in the Jinnah House attack case. The investigation officer informed the court that the inquiry against them had been completed, and they were found not guilty.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Aleema Khan said, "After 20 months, Allah has vindicated us. I have learned a lot about this system." She further stated that authorities confirmed she was not wanted in the May 9 cases.
Aleema Khan criticized the delay in judicial proceedings, saying, "I pray that no one, not even an enemy, has to endure such suffering. Things might not have reached this stage if the investigation officer had appeared on the first day." She added that the unavailability of records forced her to go through court hearings for 20 months.
Highlighting the flaws in the investigation process, she remarked, "Due to the negligence of investigation officers, many people have suffered unjust sentences."
This decision marks a significant development in the legal proceedings surrounding the May 9 incidents, with several other cases still under trial.
