In a relief for electricity consumers across the country, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in electricity prices by over Rs1.22 per unit for one month.
A notification regarding the price cut has been issued.
However, the reduction will not apply to lifeline consumers, electric vehicle charging stations, and consumers using more than 300 units.
Price reduction breakdown:
- Distribution companies (DISCOs): Rs1.22 per unit reduction
- K-Electric consumers: Rs1.23 per unit reduction
The price cut has been implemented as part of the monthly Fuel Price Adjustment (FCA) for December. The reduction for DISCOs is based on the FCA for December, while for K-Electric consumers, the adjustment corresponds to November's fuel price variation.
NEPRA’s notification confirms that the revised electricity rates will reflect in the February electricity bills of consumers across the country.
