Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Wednesday that Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi met the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation with the judiciary's consent.
Expressing his thoughts on the National Assembly, Asif said, "We are in touch with the IMF over the monetary and deficit matters. The government is making efforts to implement the financial discipline."
He said, "The implementation of the financial discipline is also the condition of the IMF."
"The judiciary is also having a great role in the implementation of the financial discipline. The judiciary should acknowledge the efforts of the implementation of the financial discipline," Asif stated.
He said, "The money and programme we got are because of the IMF."
Meanwhile, speaking to media in Islamabad, Asif said, "The PTI is facing a testing time. The political parties generally get success by facing the hardships."
"However, the PTI is revolving around one person, who is bearing the brunt of his own mistakes," said Asif.
"We are having great ties with the Arab countries. It is welcoming that the Turkish president is making his way to Pakistan, which is the result of our foreign policy," said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart.
Speaking about China, Asif said, "China is our best friend."
"The matters with the IMF have been settled," said the minister.
Meanwhile, giving his take on the forthcoming Champions Trophy, Asif said, "The Champions Trophy is around the corner, and the prayers are with the Pakistan national cricket team to clinch the trophy."
