Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan to Pakistan, emphasizing the deep-rooted brotherly ties between the two nations.
Taking to his X account, PM Shehbaz expressed his delight over President Erdoğan’s visit, calling him a visionary leader who has played a key role in transforming Türkiye. He highlighted that under Erdoğan’s dynamic leadership, Pakistan-Türkiye relations have grown even stronger.
“This historic visit presents an opportunity to elevate our strong bonds to even greater heights,” the PM stated, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Early on Thursday morning, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation, which included ministers, senior officials, and prominent business personalities.
He was warmly greeted at the Noor Khan Airbase by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A ceremonial 21-gun salute was fired in honour of President Erdoğan's arrival, while schoolchildren, dressed in traditional attire, welcomed him with great enthusiasm. A military band also played traditionally to celebrate his visit.

During his stay, President Erdoğan is expected to hold significant talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari. According to sources, discussions would revolve around strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
PM Shehbaz and the Turkish president will chair the seventh meeting of the Pakistan-Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC). President Erdoğan is also scheduled to address the Pakistan-Turkey Business and Investment Forum.
Shortly, the Turkish president will reach the Prime Minister House, where he would be welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The distinguished guest would be presented with a guard of honour by the Pakistan armed forces. Pakistan Air Force pilots will perform a flypast in his honour.
Erdogan is also scheduled to plant a sapling on the premises of the Prime Minister House. Both the Turkish president and PM Shehbaz will hold a bilateral meeting, and later lead their respective delegations in the Strategic Cooperation Council meeting. Agreements and memorandums of understanding on cooperation will be signed at the PM House, followed by a joint press conference.
