The Mitchell Santner-led New Zealand were bracing for the tri-nation series final against Pakistan, slated to happen at the revamped Karachi stadium tomorrow (Friday).
Expressing his thoughts on Thursday ahead of the fourth and final match of the tri-nation series, Santner acknowledged the Pakistan’s performance in their last outing against South Africa at the Karachi stadium.
“Pakistan has done a good thing. The wicket at the Karachi stadium will be new. Maybe there will be another high-scoring match,” said Santner.
He said, “Our team took plenty of rest after Monday’s game against South Africa.”
“As a bowler, you can only deliver a ball,” he said.
“Yesterday, Salman Ali Agha had done the same thing,” said Santner.
He lavished his praise on senior New Zealand batter Kane Williamson, saying, “Kane Williamson has proved that he is a great batter. It is a good omen for us that Williamson is in form.”
“Kane Williamson’s form will be beneficial for us in the forthcoming Champions Trophy,” said Santner.
On the other side, both the captains had posed for the photos ahead of the final of the tri-nation series.
Pakistan had sealed the tri-nation series final spot by dismantling South Africa in a high-scoring match, with Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan notching centuries each.
