New Zealand fast bowler Ben Sears on Friday ruled out from the forthcoming Champions Trophy.
According to details, the New Zealand cricket had decided to induct Jacob Duffy as the Sears' replacement. The International Cricket Council's (ICC) technical committee had allowed the inclusion of Duffy in the New Zealand's squad.
The New Zealand cricket said that Sears faced a hamstring injury.
New Zealand will start their Champions Trophy campaign by taking on the hosts, Pakistan, on February 9.

Separately, Indian renowned sports journalist Vikrant Gupta dubbed the New Zealand cricket team as the “dark horse” for the forthcoming Champions Trophy, slated to happen from February 19, primarily in Pakistan.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Gupta said, “They look such a compact team, almost made for the subcontinent conditions.”
“They will be the dark horse this Champions Trophy,” said Gupta.
New Zealand will start their Champions Trophy campaign with the first match against Pakistan on February 19.
