The third and final day of the 2025 International Horse and Cattle Show marked the conclusion of vibrant international tent pegging competitions, featuring individual line, double, triple, and four-horse rider finals.
Held at Benin Tree Polo Ground in Cantt Lahore, the three-day International Tent Pegging Friendship Tournament attracted teams from South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Russia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United States, Norway, and Pakistan. The final day’s results saw Pakistan securing first place, Egypt taking second, Saudi Arabia third, and South Africa finishing fourth.
A total of nine international teams and 36 international players participated in the tournament. In archery competitions, 16 archers from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran, Russia, and Pakistan competed.
Kazakhstan emerged as the winner of the archery event, with Turkey finishing second and Iran securing third. Nine international teams participated in the spear-throwing event, while five teams competed in archery. The riders showcased exceptional skills in horse riding and spear-throwing, which were highly praised and enjoyed by the spectators. Trophies and medals were awarded to the winning teams' riders and archers.
Meanwhile, in the national tent pegging competitions held at Fortress Stadium, 60 teams and 260 riders participated in single-line events on the first day. The second day featured line-four competitions. On the first day, in the single-line event, Mehr Imran Haider Barbahna from Witoklub claimed first place, followed by Raye Asif Bhola Kharl from SA Garden in second, Malik Ali Hassan Wato from Zeledar Club in third, and Khawar Tent Pegging Club in fourth.
In the single-line spear-throwing competitions on the second day, Mehr Asrar Ahmed Nargana secured first place, Ali Babar Alfa took second, and Raye Aftab Maneka and Chaudhry Chan Mahmood Randwana finished third.
On the third day, in the Session of Four competition, Chaudhry Suni Khan Ranjha from Khur Kalla Club took first place, Chaudhry Manwar Abbas Khokhar from Show Line Club Lahore finished second, and Chaudhry Javed Arshad Butt from Al-Hafiz Malik Jhelum Club claimed third.
The national tent pegging tournament also saw a total of Rs10million in prizes and cash awards distributed.
The first-place team received Rs500,000, the second-place team earned Rs200,000 and the third-place team received Rs200,000 along with trophies, shields and cash prizes.
During the prize distribution ceremony at Fortress Stadium, Bilal Yaseen and Ghazali Saleem Butt distributed awards to the winning teams and praised the athletes' spirit.
