Governor of Nigeria’s Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, recently announced that the largest cotton and apparel industry in West Africa will soon be established in the state.
The facility, expected to have a capacity to employ up to 40,000 people, will be located in the Special Agro-Processing Zone.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the industry is set to take place soon, with Abiodun sharing the details during a meeting with the visiting Nigerian Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment, John Enoh, in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Abiodun highlighted the strategic location of the Special Agro-Processing Zone, co-located with the state’s airport. He confirmed that the final stages of the Ogun State Agro-cargo and passenger airport were nearing completion, positioning the area as an aerotropolis, where the airport, Special Agro-Processing Zone, and Nigeria's largest customs facilities will converge.
The governor further noted that his administration is committed to providing industries in Ogun state with affordable and reliable power, aiming to offer the cheapest source of energy for businesses operating in the state.
