Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi has announced the Fitrana and Fidya rates for Ramazan.
The minimum amount for Fitrana and Fidya has been set at Rs220 per person.
Fitrana and Fidya rates based on different commodities:
- Wheat: Rs220 per person
- Barley: Rs450 per person
- Dates: Rs1,650 per person
- Raisins: Rs2,500 per person
- Dried Grapes (Munakka): Rs5,000 per person
Dr. Naeemi emphasized that well-off individuals should contribute according to their financial status rather than relying on the lowest amount, ensuring greater support for the underprivileged. He also clarified that Fitrana is mandatory for every Muslim, regardless of age, gender, or social status.
For those who cannot fast during Ramadan, the Fidya for 30 days is as follows:
- Wheat: Rs6,600
- Barley: Rs13,500
- Dates: Rs49,500
- Raisins: Rs75,000
- Dried Grapes (Munakka): Rs150,000
He further explained that the Kaffarah (expiation) for intentionally breaking a fast is either fasting continuously for 60 days or feeding 60 needy people two meals a day.
Dr. Naeemi also mentioned that individuals using government-subsidized flour can pay Rs160 as Fitrana or Fidya.
