Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan can serve as a bridge between China and the United States, emphasizing the need to reduce distances rather than create divisions.
In an interview with German media on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that bringing India into competition with China would disrupt the balance of power in the region.
He highlighted the importance of projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while also underscoring the necessity of maintaining strong relations with the U.S.
The PPP chairman noted that the U.S. could play a role in restoring trade and dialogue between Pakistan and India.
He stressed that both countries face challenges such as poverty and unemployment and that Pakistan will take all necessary measures to ensure its survival in the region. He added that while complete peace with India may not be immediately possible, trade and diplomatic engagement remain viable options.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S. Weighs In
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., Masood Khan, echoed similar sentiments, stating that Pakistan can serve as an economic bridge between China and the United States.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by the World Affairs Council of New Hampshire, Masood Khan emphasized that peace and stability in the region should be a shared objective of Pakistan, the U.S., and other major global powers. He also stressed that India should prioritize peaceful coexistence with its neighbors to foster regional stability and economic growth.
