The vibrant colours of Punjabi culture were on full display at the closing ceremony of the Horse and Cattle Show at Fortress Stadium, Lahore.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz hosted the grand event, which featured traditional performances, parades, and musical extravaganzas. Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir graced the occasion as the special guest. Upon his arrival, Rangers personnel presented a ceremonial salute.
The event was also attended by senior Punjab government officials, including Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Housing Minister Bilal Yasin, Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique, and Law Minister Sohaib Bharat, along with a large number of spectators.
Traditional sports, cultural performances
The ceremony featured a range of traditional sports and cultural displays, celebrating Punjab’s rich heritage. Highlights included a spear-throwing demonstration, an exciting kabaddi match between Punjab Green and Punjab White teams, and an energetic parade of decorated camels and livestock brought from different cities.
The mesmerizing sight of horses dancing to drum beats captivated the audience, while regional folk dances showcased the diversity of Pakistani traditions.
Smog-free Punjab
Floats prepared for the event emphasized the theme of a 'Smog-Free Punjab', promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices across the province.
Musical extravaganza by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Arif Lohar
Adding to the grandeur, renowned singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Arif Lohar captivated the audience with their soulful performances. Their electrifying music set the stage for a memorable conclusion to the grand festival.
