Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi hailed on Tuesday former Pakistan cricketer Younis Khan as "legend", vowing to learn from the latter.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Shahidi said: "Everybody listens to Younis Khan, whenever he tells us anything. Younis Khan is pretty much aware about the pitches and grounds here in Pakistan."
He recalled the Afghanistan's outing against South Africa in Karachi, saying, "Our spinners were not getting help in the Karachi pitch."
"We have nothing to do about what is going outside of the grounds. We will now make our way to the field in a new approach," said Shahidi.
He maintained, "We will have to work hard to seal the semi-final spot."
Shahidi said, "We have played great cricket against England in the World Cup 2023, but now it is in the past."
He hoped that the spinners would get an advantage from the Lahore pitch.
