The Met Department has warned that Karachi could experience a heatwave during the last 10 days of Ramadan, with temperatures expected to soar up to 40 degrees Celsius.
According to Met Office's Media Focal Person, Anjum Nazir Zaigham, Ramadan will begin with moderate weather, with temperatures around 34 degrees Celsius. However, as the month progresses, Karachiites should prepare for intense heat.
Zaigham further stated that the weather in Karachi this week will remain partly to fully cloudy. The temperature may reach 32 degrees Celsius, but there is no likelihood of rain. Additionally, the series of westerly winds will not affect the city.
The Met Office advises residents to take necessary precautions against the expected heatwave, particularly during the fasting period in Ramadan’s final days.
