England captain Jos Buttler vowed on Tuesday to avoid repeating mistakes in the match against Afghanistan in the 8th match of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Buttler said: "We will try to win the matches by ensuring to play cricket with better approach."
"Hopefully, both the teams will play good game of cricket. It is hard to anticipate the total on this wicket," he said.
Buttler rallied behind Harry Brook, saying, "Harry Brook is a great player. We expect good innings from him."
He said, "We really need to make improvements on some departments."
Buttler expressed optimism to stage a comeback against Afghanistan in a do-or-die encounter for both the teams.
He lamented the injury of England fast bowler Brydon Carse, saying, "We are sad about an injury of fast bowler Brydon Carse."
"The women in Afghanistan are facing hardships in terms of studying and playing," said Buttler.
