Afghanistan batter Ibrahim Zadran has not only notched a highest individual score in the history of the Champions Trophy, but also scored his career best with his blistering 146-ball 177 against England in the 8th match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
According to details, despite the working day on Wednesday, the fans had extended the great support to both the teams and Afghanistan had also not let done their fans in the first phase of the game with blistering performance.
The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led Afghanistan posted an insurmountable 325-7 against England, who believed in the “Bazball” approach, but it’s been while that they showed any spark.
After losing three wickets for just 37, Ibrahim Zadran played a substantial role in rebounding the Afghanistan’s innings. Zadran clobbered 12 boundaries and six towering sixes.
Azmatullah Omarzai had also played a decent knock, compiling 31-ball 41, complimenting with one boundary and three sixes.
Afghan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi and Mohammad Nabi scored 40 runs each.
Though Shahidi adopted a circumspect approach to the batting, but Nabi played in a blistering way. Shahidi had smashed three boundaries, whereas Nabi creamed two boundaries and three towering sixes.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (6), Sediqullah Atal (4) and Rahmat Shah (4) failed to show significant resistance with the bat.
Gulbadin Naib (1) and Rashid Khan (1) remained unbeaten.
