A Wisconsin 4-year-old boy's sense of justice was tested last Tuesday when he called 911 to report his mother for eating his ice cream, according to Mount Pleasant police officials.
Officers responded to a 911 hangup call where they discovered a young boy who had contacted emergency services with a serious complaint about his mother.
"My mommy is being bad," the child told the 911 dispatcher, according to recordings obtained by CNN affiliate WTMJ. When asked what was happening, the boy demanded, "Come and get my mommy."
The mother quickly took the phone and explained the situation to the dispatcher, revealing the motivation behind her son's emergency call: "I ate his ice cream, so that's probably why he's calling 911."
Following protocol, police officers visited the family's home to verify that the ice cream incident wasn't concealing a more serious situation.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed the boy's account of events - his mother had indeed consumed his ice cream without permission. The young caller maintained his position that his mother should face consequences for her actions.
After some discussion, the boy ultimately decided against pressing charges, telling officers he didn't want his mother incarcerated and simply wanted his ice cream replaced.
Mount Pleasant police officers turned the situation into a community outreach opportunity, returning two days later with a special delivery - two scoops of ice cream topped with blue sprinkles for the young caller.
The incident highlights both the humorous nature of some 911 calls involving children and the compassionate approach many police departments take when handling unusual situations involving young community members.
