The parents of Hassan Nawaz were proud as the youngster had notched a fastest ton for the Pakistan national cricket team against New Zealand in the third T20I at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday.
According to details, the herculean century came in a do-or-die situation for the Green Shirts, who were thumped in the first T20I matches against the Black Caps.
After getting out for duck twice, Nawaz, who originally hails from Layyah, was feeling the pressure to deliver with the bat.
But seeing his partner Haris, who hitting the bowl out of the park at outset of Pakistan's innings, Nawaz looked to embrace "fearless" approach to bat.
He was ably supported by Salman Ali Agha, who was facing the salvo from the critics as his status as the Pakistan white-ball captain.
Agha notched a terrific half-century, but all eyes were on Nawaz, who announced himself as the "true" power-hitter.
Seeing their son, showcasing his batting prowess, Nawaz's father said: "It is the prayers of people of Pakistan due to which our son [Hassan Nawaz] had made us proud."
"I am very happy to see my son representing at this level today," said Nawaz's father.
