Senior Bureau Official (SBO) for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Eric Meyer will lead an interagency US delegation traveling to Islamabad from April 8-10, the US State Department said in a statement on Saturday.
The purpose of the visit will be to advance US interests in the critical minerals sector at the two-day Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum that will kick off in Islamabad on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the delegates will meet senior Pakistani officials to expand opportunities for American businesses in Pakistan and promote the deepening of economic ties between the two countries.
Meyer will also engage with senior officials to underscore the vital importance of the continued collaboration between the two countries on counterterrorism.
