Sources divulged that the Capital Development Authority said that the fire started in the cooling system on the fifth floor of the hotel building.
The CDA Director of Emergency, Zafar Iqbal, said: "Six firefighting vehicles and 50 firefighters participated in the operation to extinguish the fire."
"The fire was extinguished within half an hour," he added.
Pakistan Super League CEO, Salman Naseer, said: "None of the players or franchises faced any difficulties. The fire was extinguished on time. It did not spread to the interior of the hotel."
"The fire brigade teams launched their operation to extinguish the fire promptly," Naseer added.
It is pertinent to note that defending champions Islamabad United will take on two-time champions Lahore Qalandars in the opener of the tenth edition of the domestic marquee tournament.
