Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Atif Khan has revealed that several senior party members, including himself, were invited to attend a meeting with a visiting US Congressional delegation at the US Embassy in Islamabad.
Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV, Atif Khan clarified that the meeting was not exclusive to PTI members and included leaders from various political parties.
“The US Congress delegation had invited political leaders across the board for a dialogue at the US Embassy,” said Atif Khan. “I, along with Dr. Amjad, attended the meeting.”
He, however, further stated that key PTI figures, including Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Omer Ayub, Aamir Dogar, and Salman Akram Raja, were also invited but chose not to attend despite receiving formal invitations.
According to Atif Khan, the US delegation acknowledged Pakistan's pivotal geopolitical role and emphasized its strategic relevance in the global arena.

“They noted that Pakistan is the fifth most populous country in the world, with 60% of its population comprising youth — a fact that underlines the country’s future potential,” Khan said.
He described the meeting as part of ongoing diplomatic engagement aimed at understanding Pakistan’s current political climate, regional dynamics, and the role of democratic institutions.
Meanwhile, speaking in a Samaa TV talk show, Barrister Gohar had clarified that he neither received an invitation nor attended any such event. He mentioned that Atif Khan had attended a reception on invitation, but urged against politicizing the matter.
