Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Nehal Hashmi said on Tuesday that the elections in the country will be held before February.
Addressing a press conference in Sukkur, Hashmi said, ‘’This time around, the country will witness elections, not selection. If we are voted into power, there will be no purchasing of jobs.’’
He rued, “When I headed to Sukkur, the feeling came into my mind that this is the city based in the 17th century. We [PML-N] will construct the Lahore-like roads in Sukkur.’’

– PPP calls for election date announcement –
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Sherry Rehman on Wednesday urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce the date and schedule for the general elections.
Speaking to media in Islamabad, Sherry said, ‘’The delay in the elections is tantamount to not holding the polls. There is still uncertainty about the election's timing.''
The former climate minister was of the view that all political parties should have access to the level-playing field.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is expected to visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to speed up the election campaign.
Sources divulged on Wednesday that the former foreign minister is likely to touchdown KP during the second week of the next month (November) to mobilise the party for the general elections.
Bhutto-Zardari will continue to carry out political activities in the province for up to five days in the province, according to the sources.
The key political personalities from KP are likely to join the PPP ahead of the elections.
