Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan on Saturday bashed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, deeming the latter "unfortunate" for not taking advantage of the capabilities of patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen.
Addressing the first public gathering of the IPP in Jahanian, Aleem Khan said, ‘’I ask the questions from the PTI leadership about for whom you people have sacrificed Jahangir Tareen and me.’’
He fired a broadside at former Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar and former KP chief minister Mahmood Khan, saying, "Where have been Usman Buzdar and Mahmood Khan today? Buzdar was the front man of the PTI chief, who, after receiving the money, used it to transfer ahead".
Aleem Khan maintained, “Jahangir Khan Tareen had decided to engage in politics for the sake of the people. However, whatever had happened in PTI was contrary to the pledges made during our joining of the party”.
The IPP president said, “Those who used to say on television that the IPP would have people’s support But today, the masses have given them a response by heading to the power show in Jahanian”.
“I will like to felicitate you for organising such a brilliant workers’ convention in the small town. The masses have proved with their support that they own the IPP,” he added.
– Poor-friendly manifesto –
The IPP president vowed a poor-friendly manifesto for the masses. ‘’We want to develop Islamabad-like hospitals in the backward areas of South Punjab. Our manifesto revolves around women's emancipation.’’
‘’If the IPP comes into power, it will provide up to 300 units of free electricity. Those who are having their bikes will be given petrol at half the original price,” he added.
– Minimum wage –
Aleem Khan made it clear that the labourers’ wage will be fixed at Rs 50,000.
– Free electricity for farmers –
The IPP president vowed to provide free electricity to the farmers for up to 12.5 acres.
