Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Nisar Khuhro asserted on Wednesday that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) victory is not certain in the general elections.
Addressing a press conference in Mirpur Khas, Khuhro said: “We had to approach the court to get the date for the elections.’’ He took a jibe at the political opponents, stating that the 13 political parties – even by joining hands together – cannot lock horns with the PPP in Sindh.
Khuhro recalled the PPP’s split with the Pakistan Democratic Movement, saying, “The PPP had to bid farewell to the PDM because the long march date was changed.”
The PPP leader fired a broadside at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, saying, “The PTI chief is facing the consequences of what he had done.”
Expressing his thoughts about the illegal immigrants, Khuhro said: “There are many other illegal immigrants living in Pakistan in addition to the Afghan refugees.‘’
– PPP vows to lock horns with PML-N, MQM-P –
The PPP vowed to lock horns with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) in the general elections.
Reacting to the development of an alliance between the PML-N and MQM-P, PPP leader Saeed Ghani asserted: ‘’ The alliance between the PML-N and MQM-P proves that these parties cannot compete with the PPP alone.’’
‘’The MQM-P had always made claims of contesting the elections alone. The MQM-P proved today that it is not dominating Karachi anymore,’’ Ghani said.
He maintained: ‘’The MQM-P is not daring enough to contest the elections without any alliance. The unrealistic alliance between the PML-N and MQM-P was expected’’.
