Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Spokesperson Aalia Rasheed said on Tuesday that the cricket board looks to entrust the former cricketers with key responsibilities.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV, Aalia Rasheed said: “Younis Khan is likely to get the responsibility to handle the cricket matters related to Karachi. Sohail Tanvir can take the responsibility to see the matters pertaining to the junior-level selection.”
She made it clear that if former Test cricketer Azhar wants to groom fringe players, then the latter should show interest in this regard.
"We are all standing behind the Pakistan national cricket team and skipper Babar Azam,” she added.
Aalia admitted there are flaws in the system and selection.

She underscored the role of the former cricketers in a bid to uplift cricket.

Former cricketers on Tuesday advised PCB management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf to continue with Babar Azam as the team’s skipper.
Prominent among those who held a meeting with the PCB chief were Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, and Sohail Tanvir.
The senior cricketers were of the view that there is plenty of time in ODI cricket.

The former cricketers stressed the need to avoid the selection of players for the national team on the basis of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
