Virat Kohli is one of the players whose name will be on the cricket fans’ finger tips, as the former Indian captain is hard to beat when it comes to his utter dedication for this beautiful sport.
There is hardly anything this fabulous cricketer has not done for whatever team he represents. But when he dons the national outfit, he becomes invincible.
It is easy to have a class for a while, and maintaining and upgrading it is not everybody’s job, but Kohli [that’s right]. Over the years, he continued to enhance his skills, gracing the game with great verve and dedication.
Now, at this juncture, he is playing the role of bigwig in this young and energetic Indian team. He is so passionate about his batting and masterclass that his hunger for nurdling every run never stops.
Kohli proved himself in this World Cup as the premier batter by leading the list of the most run scorers, racking up 594 in nine innings with an insurmountable batting average of exactly 99.
He had compiled two hundreds and five 50s. This statistic is one of the samples that suggests how important this evergreen batter is for India and captain Rohit Sharma, who himself is in sublime form, compiling 503 runs with an average of 55.88.
Despite all the brilliance and excellence to underline about Kohli, he still has to prove his mettle in the World Cup semifinals. This is one of the rarest areas where he needs to fill a column. In his three outings in the semifinals, Kohli had merely amassed 11 runs off 40 deliveries.

In 2011, against Pakistan, he could only manage to score 21-ball 9, but India somehow not only won the match but also the ODI World Cup for the second time.
But his rough patch in the semifinal against Australia in 2015 did not pave the way for India to sweep past Michael Clarke-inspired Australia. Kohli could only plunder a run off the 13 balls he faced against Australia.
The same score, Kohli had scored four years later against New Zealand but consumed six deliveries.
Now is the chance for Kohli to bounce back and improve his track record in the semifinals. It is a great opportunity to take his previous semifinal revenge against the Kane Williamson-led side.
But Kohli will definitely be high in confidence and hardly give the opposition any chance to flummox him because all eyes will be on him and his mate and skipper, Rohit Sharma.
