The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez as the team director on Wednesday following the World Cup failure in India.
The PCB had announced on X that it had changed the portfolio of the Pakistan coaching staff. "All coaches will continue to work in National Cricket Academy while PCB will announce the new coaching staff in due course for the upcoming series in Australia and New Zealand," the PCB statement said.
Mohammad Hafeez had represented Pakistan in 55 Tests, 218 ODIs, and 119 T20s.
Recently, the 43-year-old was elected as a member of the technical committee.
Mohammad Hafeez was a prominent member of the team that won the Champions Trophy for the country.

Earlier today, the PCB appointed Shaheen Shah Afridi as the captain of the T20I side.
Shan Masood, who is having a great time with the bat, especially in Test cricket, has been appointed captain in the red-ball format.
