The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday appointed legendary cricketer Mohammad Yousuf as the head coach of the national U-19 team.
Yousuf will start coaching the national U-19 team in the Under-19 Asia Cup.

On this occasion, Yousuf expressed his gratitude to PCB management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf for appointing him as the head coach of the national U-19 team.
Yousuf vowed to utilise his experience of working with senior teams for the U-19 team, which will pave the way for the young players to rise on the international level.
– Sohail Tanvir appointed as junior team chief selector –
The PCB on Friday appointed former fast bowler Sohail Tanvir as the junior team chief selector.
Sohail Tanvir’s first assignment will be to pick up the team for the ACC Under-19, which will happen in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On the occasion, Tanvir said, “It is an honour to take up the responsibility as the junior chief selector.
“I am ready to embrace the new challenges,” Tanvir said.
Member of the 2009 T20 World Cup winning squad and former Pakistan cricketer Sohail Tanvir has been appointed as head of the junior selection committee.

– Wahab Riaz to serve as interim chief selector –
Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has allowed Wahab Riaz to serve as the interim chief selector and sports advisor concurrently on Friday.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz had appointed as the interim chief selector of the national team. Riaz will pick up the team for the tour of Australia. The decision has not yet been made as to whether Riaz will resign from the post of the interim sports advisor or not following his appointment as the team’s chief selector.
On this occasion, Riaz said, “It is a proud moment to spearhead the national selection committee. It is commendable to take the former cricketers on board in terms of handling matters pertaining to cricket”.
Following his appointment as the team’s interim chief selector, Riaz said, “I would like to express my gratitude to Zaka Ashraf.”
He underscored the importance of Pakistan’s upcoming tour of Australia, deeming it “quite crucial’’ for the team.
Riaz also underlined Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand, in which five T20Is will be held.
He expressed optimism that the balanced team will be prepared ahead of the T20 World Cup next year, which will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States.
